Barista Job Description

Responsibilities: Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers; sells coffee and coffee-related equipment, accessories, and supplies; prepares and serves a variety of coffee drinks, pastries, cookies, and sandwiches.

Job Duties:

1. Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs.
2. Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answers questions.
3. Sells coffee and equipment by explaining differences in beans and machines; demonstrates equipment operation.
4. Prepares and sells coffee drinks following recipes and techniques, including espresso, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
5. Attracts new customers and promotes new services and products to generate revenue.
6. Maintains inventory by replenishing supplies and stocking equipment and food items.
7. Ensures equipment operates properly by following instructions, troubleshooting, and performing maintenance.
8. Follows sanitation standards to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
9. Improves quality and store appearance by evaluating processes and implementing improvements.
10. Updates knowledge through educational opportunities and industry publications.
11. Enhances the shop's reputation by taking ownership and exploring new opportunities.
