Job summary

Intelligentsia Coffee in Santa Monica is hiring a Barista for our brand new coffeebar. You will prepare beverages, educate guests on our direct-trade standards, and deliver hospitality that makes every visit special.

The starting wage is $19.83/hour, with a raise to $20.62/hour after training. Tips typically add $7–$9/hour. We offer paid vacation/sick time, 8 paid holidays, and a full benefits package for those working 20+ hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Speak and read English proficiently.
• Dependable with good attendance and punctuality.
• Able to learn and master coffee tasting profiles and dial-ins.
• Good teamwork skills.
• Weekend availability.

We are pioneers in the direct trade model for buying coffee and creating coffee partnerships all over the world. We’re passionate about coffee, and that means we pay a bit more for coffee in order to buy direct and create long-term, collaborative relationships with our producers that grow exceptional coffee.The starting wage for a Barista in Santa Monica is $19.83/hr. There is an extensive training program and a new hire generally should become full-bar capable within 90 days. After certification, the pay rate improves to $20.62/hr. The position is eligible for tips.
