Job Opening: Part-Time Barista

We are hiring immediately for a Part-Time Barista position at Genentech, located at 350 DNA Way, South San Francisco, CA 94080. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule: Part-time, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. Additional details will be provided during the interview.

Requirements: Previous experience as a barista, with bartending experience preferred.

Perks: Travel, housing, and cell phone allowances are provided.

Pay Range: $22.00 to $23.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Prepare and serve coffee/espresso drinks and related food/beverages, handle food according to HACCP standards, interact courteously with customers and staff.

Essential Duties

1. Prepare espresso orders using standard measures and recipes.
2. Enter orders into POS, accept payments.
3. Replenish supplies and maintain cleanliness.
4. Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and temperature standards.
5. Maintain sanitation of equipment and work area.
6. Follow recipes and standards for food prep.
7. Keep display equipment clean and attractive.
8. Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly.
9. Greet and interact courteously with customers, relay concerns to supervisors.
10. Serve efficiently, prevent delays.
11. Understand and explain menu items.
12. Assist in upselling and customer decision-making.
13. Ensure attractive display of foods.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
