Job summary

Villanova University is seeking a Barista for the Holy Grounds kiosk at Cabrini to provide friendly, efficient service and prepare drinks to standard. You will handle cash transactions and operate POS and Grub Hub apps while maintaining clean display areas.

Previous cashiering helps. This full-time, 12-month position offers shift differential for qualifying hours and opportunities to learn coffee equipment at a busy campus venue.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Cashiering experience of 1-2 years.

• Dress and grooming appropriate for Holy Grounds.
• Able to handle numerous tasks at once while prioritizing.
• Will train on all coffee equipment; POS and Grub Hub Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service that is efficient, friendly and speedy to Holy Grounds customers.
• Operates POS terminals and some locations while others use Grub Hub applications to receive orders.
• Advices customers of new coffees or teas or featured items of the week; prepares all drinks to standard.
• Maintains cleanliness and attractiveness of the kiosk; keeps counters and displays stocked.
• Assists manager with scheduling of student associates and enforces uniform standards.
• Completes tasks at each shift ensuring readiness for the next shift.
• Follows safety and sanitation policies for Villanova Dining Services.
• Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service that is efficient, friendly and speedy to Holy Grounds customers. Treat each customer as your highest priority, being mindful of customers who are waiting. Operates POS terminals and some locations while others use Grub Hub applications to receive orders.
• Actively shares coffee and tea knowledge while actively selling all products. Advises customers of new coffees or teas or featured items of the week. Prepares all drinks according to Holy Grounds standards.
• Maintains the cleanliness and attractiveness of the Holy Ground kiosk by keeping counters and displays cleaned and fully stocked. Makes sure all products are labeled correctly.
• Assist manager with scheduling of student associates. Responsible for enforcing the uniform standards of all student associates.
• Completes the tasks assigned at each shift, ensuring that everything is ready for the next shift.
• Enforces and practices all safety and sanitation policies and procedures for Villanova Dining Services.
• Monitors customer needs and responds to any concerns or questions in a friendly and courteous manner while resolve the issue immediately.
• Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Formal Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

Specific Job Knowledge:

• Interest in coffee preferred Will need to sample and test products for quality assurance.

Minimum Work Experience:

• Cashiering experience of 1-2 years.

Work Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong customer service skills.
• Dress and grooming appropriate for Holy Grounds Concept.
• Able to handle numerous tasks at once while prioritizing.

Equipment Knowledge:

• Will train on all coffee equipment.

Salary Posting Information
