Job summary

Lyric at RidgeGate is seeking a Barista in a full-time capacity to prepare and sell coffee drinks such as espresso, lattes, and cappuccino, following standard recipes. The role reports to the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at a resort setting in South Metro Denver.

New hourly full-time teammates (30+ hours/week) are eligible for medical, dental, and life insurance the first of the month after 60 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–3 months’ related experience preferred.
• Must meet state age requirements for alcohol service.
• Current Food Handlers card.
• Ability to learn and think quickly.
• Ability to perform basic math for discounts.
• Able to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Prepare beverages using bar equipment while engaging guests.
• Speak effectively with guests and team members.
• Communicate tasks and responsibilities to supervisors.
• Maintain a positive attitude and calm demeanor in a busy environment.
• Self-motivated, follow directions, work independently.
• Demonstrate initiative and quick decision-making.
• Pay attention to multiple details in a fast-paced setting.
• Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet and serve guests in an energetic and friendly fashion.
• Present and explain the coffee menu, answer questions, and suggest beverages.
• Take orders accurately and prepare beverages per recipes.
• Serve beverages indoors or on the patio.
• Handle cash and card transactions and give correct change.
• Share creative ideas with the Food & Beverage Supervisor.
• Maintain inventories and stock coffee beans and equipment.
• Keep equipment clean and safely operating, troubleshoot when needed.
• Report equipment repairs to supervisor.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary work environment and follow standards.
• Notice and report safety issues or guest concerns.
• Assist with team member training and foster a friendly team.
• Know the resort facilities to encourage exploring other services.
• Other duties as assigned.
