St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a friendly Barista to prepare hot and cold specialty drinks for patients, staff, and visitors in its on-site cafe. The role emphasizes quality, accuracy, and excellent customer service in a healthcare setting.

You will follow recipes, operate the POS system, manage cash, and maintain clean, well-stocked service areas. Training is provided, and candidates should be reliable with weekend and holiday coverage as needed.

Individually and together, our employees are dedicated to satisfying the mission of our organization which is an unwavering commitment to excellence as we care for the sick and injured; educate physicians, nurses and other health care providers; and improve access to care in the communities we serve, regardless of a patient's ability to pay for health care.HOURS:Mix of 5:30am - 2:00pm, 6:30am - 3:00pm, 7:30am - 4:00pm.Every other weekend and every other holiday required.The Barista prepares hot and cold specialty drinks in accordance with established procedures and recipes.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepares hot and cold specialty drinks in accordance with established procedures and recipesEnsures and maintains proper food quality and temperaturePrepares, serves, and merchandises menu items in a manner that best enhances the products and adheres to all dietary restrictionsEnsures that all menus are posted in the proper areas and that changes to the menus have been communicated to the responsible individualsOperates POS while following cash handling policy and proceduresStocks assigned areas as directedAssists with general sanitation of food service department including: wiping walls, cleaning equipment, working in the dish room, emptying trash cans etcCleans and maintains work area at all timesCompletes special cleaning projects as assignedMaintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.Demonstrates/models the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.Other related duties as assigned.PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:Walking for up to 7 hours, 30 minutes at a time; sitting for up to 1 hour at a time and standing up to 1 ½ hours for 30 minutes at a time. Frequently uses handling and occasionally twisting/turning, lifting (1-50 lb.), carrying (1-50 lb.), pushing (1-50 lb.), and pulling (1-50 lb.). When performing essential functions, occasionally involves with stooping/bending, climbing, reaching above shoulder level. Employee must have the ability to hear normal conversation, have general vision, far vision, and peripheral vision.EDUCATION:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:Customer service and/or food service experience preferred, but not necessary.
