Job Title: Barista - Food Service Assistant (Starbucks)
The Barista - Food Service Assistant at Starbucks will be responsible for:
- Providing beverages, whole beans, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards, following health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Preparing food and beverages to standard recipes or customizing for customers, including adjustments such as temperature, ingredient quantities, or substitutions.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace for efficient resource and product access.
- Communicating with the manager to ensure the team creates the 'Third Place' environment during each shift.
- Delivering quality customer service with a customer-first attitude, connecting with customers, and responding to their needs.
- Following Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including cash handling, safety, and security, to ensure partner safety.
- Recognizing and reinforcing individual and team accomplishments through organizational methods.
- Maintaining regular and punctual attendance.
- Being available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Engaging with customers to understand and respond to their needs through clear and friendly communication.
- Performing various tasks within the store during each shift.
- Ensuring high sanitation standards for all equipment, adhering to department policies, Health Department codes, and J.C.A.H.O. regulations.
- Contributing to a positive work environment and promoting teamwork by taking initiative to improve quality and exceed customer expectations, maintaining clear communication and respectful relationships with colleagues and staff.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED and at least 6 months of previous food service experience; 6 months of Barista experience preferred.
- Starbucks Barista Trainer Certification required within 6 months of hire.
- ServSafe Certification; MA Allergen Training or AllerTrain Manager Certification is preferred.
- Acts with integrity, honesty, and promotes Starbucks' culture, values, and mission.
- Maintains calmness during high volume or unusual events to keep operations standard and set a positive example.
- Anticipates customer and store needs by evaluating the environment and cues.
- Excellent customer service skills, including clear and pleasant communication, greeting visitors, explaining policies, and relaying messages.
- Courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
- Availability to work rotating weekends, mornings, and evenings, totaling 40 hours.
