Job summary

BCI's Cupertino cafe is seeking a Barista/FOHA to blend culinary artistry with exceptional service. You will manage the espresso bar, uphold health and safety standards, and maintain speed, quality, and consistency with guests.

Training will be provided to develop your own style under hands-on mentors in our on-site program. Day to day, you will serve coffee and tea beverages quickly, keep counters clean and stocked, answer questions, and support breakfast and lunch service.

Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of customer service or high-volume food service experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to extraordinary customer service.
  • Dynamic, agile, highly organized, able to switch between locations and duties.

Job description

As a Barista/FOHA, you will play a rare role blending culinary arts with extraordinary service. You will be responsible for your espresso bar, health & safety standards, standards for speed, quality, and consistency with a high level of customer service and guest relations. Most significant of all, do you have a love for making a phenomenal espresso? We will teach you everything you need in our Barista training program where you will thrive with our hands‑on trainers guiding you through our program designed to bring our knowledge to your unique style. This position is based on site.

Day to Day:
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Creating and serving up tasty Coffee & Tea based drinks in a timely manner
  • Keeping counters clean and stocked -cleaning soda machines -brewing coffee for breakfast service -brewing tea for lunch service -answering customer questions -cutting lemons

Work Conditions:
  • You will spend time sitting, standing and walking throughout our Caffès.
  • Standing 100% of the time
  • We need to lift up to 50 pounds in the Caffè

  • We do have environmental exposure to cold, heat and water in our kitchens and restaurants.
Requirements:
  • We look for talent with 1-4 Years of experience in customer service or high volume food service - preferably larger, innovative corporate programs, in house or 3rd party but may also be food & beverage experience in a full-service hotel, resort or multi-restaurant chain.
  • Extraordinarily Service Oriented - a demonstrable high level of customer service is absolutely mandatory
  • Dynamic and agile - highly organized, ability to switch between locations and job duties
Requirements:
  • Approved Food Handler's Card and non-slip shoes prior to first day of work
Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic level knowledge of health and safety rules
  • Extraordinarily Service Oriented - a demonstrable high level of customer service is mandatory
  • Dynamic and agile - highly organized, ability to switch between location and job duties
