Job summary

Merenda Box, a Conshohocken-based Brazilian bake shop, is seeking part-time baristas to craft coffee and tea, greet customers, and share product knowledge in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates enjoy people, are eager to learn from skilled baristas, and can work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Flexible shifts and a friendly atmosphere accompany competitive pay and tips.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older and able to lift 30 lbs.
• Previous barista or coffee shop experience preferred.
• Willing to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service and uphold high standards.
• Able to stand for long periods during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee, tea, and other beverages following established recipes.
• Greet customers, answer questions, and offer product knowledge.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the station and dining area.
• Handle cash/credit transactions and manage tips according to store policy.
• Restock supplies and ensure food prep follows approved recipes.

Our Core

Baristas provide courteous and knowledgeable customer service through excellent product knowledge, superior barista skills, and attentive and friendly customer interactions.

Skills

• Enjoy people, and customer service is second nature.
• Ability to properly utilize brewing equipment to prepare coffee and tea with acute attention to high standards.
• Efficient, clean, and organized.
• Ensures proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following prescribed production standards.
• Greets customers courteously and interacts in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction. Relays relevant concerns from customers to supervisors.
• Serves customers quickly and efficiently, and prevents delays in serving lines.
• Demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to customers.
• Show a passion for coffee and willingness to learn more.
• Must be willing and able to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Able to meet the schedule and attendance requirements of the store.
• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Previous Barista/Coffee experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.
• Must be 18 or older.
