Job summary

Blank Street in Washington, DC is hiring friendly baristas to join a fast-paced cafe program, delivering consistent, welcoming service and crafting quality coffee and beverages. You'll train thoroughly, handle food safety, manage par levels to minimize waste, and collaborate with Operations and Marketing to drive traffic and community engagement.

Qualifications

1+ years' experience in a customer service position, preferably in hospitality or coffee.
18+ years of age.
Able to lift 25+ lbs, and to stand for long periods of time.
Availability that meets cafe needs: Part Time 15-25 hours; Full Time 30-40 hours; must work 2 peak days (Fri, Sat, Sun).
Authorized to work in the U.S. (I-9 verification).

Responsibilities

Delight our customers with welcoming and engaging service, turning each into a regular.
Work within a world-class coffee program to prepare drinks.
Complete training to ensure proper handling of food and beverage to retain freshness and quality.
Maintain par levels and manage waste during peak and low periods.
Adhere to Local Department of Health standards at all times.
Know and follow product, service and brand training playbooks.
Collaborate with Operations and Marketing to increase foot traffic and daily sales.
