Job summary

Hugos Family Marketplace (Caribou) in Grand Forks, ND is seeking a Barista to provide friendly, efficient service and craft high-quality beverages and foods. You will greet customers, take orders, prepare drinks and pastries, operate the POS, and maintain a clean coffee station while adhering to health and safety standards.

This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, with on-site service and team-oriented collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required.
• Experience with POS systems or cash handling preferred.
• Familiarity with coffee preparation and espresso machines.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring a positive interaction.
• Prepare and serve beverages according to Caribou standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Prepare food items, including pastries and sandwiches, adhering to company recipes and presentation standards.
• Operate the POS system/register with accuracy, handling cash and card transactions securely.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station and seating area, ensuring a welcoming environment.
• Conduct inventory checks and assist in stock management to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff.
• Demonstrate product knowledge and make recommendations to enhance the customer experience.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive work environment.
