Job summary

Four Seasons Maui is seeking a Barista to join our Food & Beverage team. You will prepare and serve coffee, tea and specialty beverages, while upholding Four Seasons standards and delivering exceptional guest experiences in a luxury setting.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of food & beverage service experience, excellent communication, a calm demeanor under pressure, and Hawaii Food Handler’s Card. Tuberculosis clearance is also required.

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years of food & beverage service experience.
• Maintain a calm demeanor during high volume or busy periods.
• Adhere to grooming standards and Four Seasons presentation guidelines.
• Able to work in a team or independently as needed.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Hawaii Food Handler’s Card and TB clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and mixed beverages per menu and Four Seasons standards.
• Confirm guest orders using the hotel POS system and verify with the original order.
• Engage guests with descriptions of origin, taste and preparation of beverages; maintain knowledge of offerings.

Barista

Serve guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages, as well as information regarding preparation methods. This role is part of the Food & Beverage Division, reporting to theDUOManagement Team.Candidates must have valid authorization to work in the United States at the time of application.

What You Will Do

• Prepare and serve a selection of coffee, tea, and mixed specialties from the menu while ensuring proper pouring, mixing, and blending according to established recipes and established Four Seasons Standards.
• Confirm guest orders including any special needs or requests from the server using the hotel’s point-of-sales system; check completed orders with the guest’s original order.
• Service and take orders from guests seated at the bar area offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of the each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods; maintain a working knowledge of food, coffee, tea and specialty drinks.

What You Will Bring

• Must possess good knowledge of service and food & beverage products and have had 2 years of food & beverage service experience in a similar role.
• Must maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep and maintain high standard and set a positive example for fellow employees.
• Must appear approachable, comply with grooming standards and have excellent personal presentation skills as per FSM guidelines.
• Should be responsible, hardworking and able to work cheerfully under pressure
• Should have excellent communication skills and be prepared to develop strong customer service skills.
• Must be able to work in a team or during quiet parts of the day work individually and be responsible for preparation, serving, taking money and organizing.
• Must maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
