Job summary

Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Inc. is seeking a Barista to welcome customers with a cheerful attitude and connect readers with the right beverages and café items. You will help stock the bakes case, operate the register, and maintain an inviting café presentation.

As you gain experience, you can grow toward Senior Barista with increasing responsibilities. The role requires standing for extended periods, lifting, and moving between the café and book floor.

Qualifications

• Friendly customer service and willingness to help readers find beverages and café items.
• Willingness to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
• Ability to learn and follow FIFO, sanitation, and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist with beverage and bakery selections.
• Operate the register quickly and accurately to serve customers.
• Unpack deliveries and stock bakery and café items.
• Maintain clean, attractive café presentation and display shelves.
• Assist the bookfloor team as needed to support store operations.
• Follow loss prevention procedures and de-escalation techniques.
