Since 2003, SA Hospitality Group has expanded to a selective group of iconic New York neighborhoods with its three brands: Sant Ambroeus, Casa Lever, Felice with 24 restaurant locations in Manhattan, Southampton, NY, East Hampton, NY, Aspen, CO, Milan, Italy, and Palm Beach, FL.

PositionPurpose: The counter attendant/barista is responsible for handling the counter, greeting guests, and providing guests with requested items.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  1. Greet guests who approach the counter displays and walk into the café.
  2. Answer all guest questions related to products and displayed items.
  3. Pack and provide requested items to guests.
  4. Ensure all items are correctly rung on checks.
  5. Maintain correct pars of items in the display, following FIFO rules, and promptly discard expired or substandard items.
  6. Keep the counter and display appearance tidy throughout operating hours.
  7. Complete the closing counter checklist before departure.
  8. Perform cash drawer checkout after each shift (seek management assistance if needed).
  9. Maintain organization and cleanliness of the counter according to Health Department standards.
  10. Replenish and stock the counter with necessary items (e.g., cookie tins, olive oil bottles) at shift end.
  11. Prepare packing materials for wrapping items and food products.
  12. Report any issues (lighting, cooling units, etc.) to management immediately.
  13. Label food items with dates at the end of your shift.
  14. Clean the counter at shift end, including routine maintenance cleaning.
Minimal Essential Requirements:
  • Ability to work as part of a team, maintain personal and uniform cleanliness.
  • Basic food handling, preparation, and cleaning skills are preferred.
  • Good time management and ability to work under pressure during high-volume periods.
  • Proficiency in English for communication and understanding instructions.
  • Active listening and learning skills.
  • Reading and speaking comprehension skills.
  • Discipline to follow set standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
