Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Barista at Sweet Briar College in Amherst, VA. This is a full-time, 9-month hourly position with a pay range of $14.00–$15.00 per hour. You will provide attentive service and prepare coffee, tea, and other beverages in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, following recipes, handling payments, and maintaining a clean workspace. Requires prior barista/food service experience and HS diploma; POS experience is a plus.

• POS experience preferred.

Salary Range: $14.00 To $15.00 Hourly

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Baristaresponsible for providing our guests with the finest drink service, accompanied by attentive and gracious service at Sweet Briar College, located in Amherst, VA.

• Pay rate: $14-$15 per hour
• Must be available: Monday-Friday, 2p-9p

What you will do:

• Make and serve specialty coffee, tea, and additional hot/cold beverages
• Greet and interact with customers while displaying a positive and friendly attitude
• Adhere to recipes and presentations for food and beverage items
• Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation, including, but not limited to, sweeping and mopping floors of the cafe and servery, emptying trash cans, cleaning grinders, etc.
• Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
• Sell and serve baked goods and miscellaneous food items
• Maintain stock of cafe inventory

What you need:

• Previous Barista and Food Services experience required
• POS experience preferred
• Excellent communication and good organizational skills
• Flexibility: the ability to switch between locations and job duties
• High School Diploma or equivalent
