$17.00/hr - $19.00/hr

At Rose Cafe, we don’t just serve coffee, we create an immersive experience in every sip. We’re seeking an exceptional Barista/Counter Attendant to join our dynamic team and elevate our coffee program to the highest standards.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience and Expertise:

You have a minimum of two years of experience as a barista in high-caliber coffee programs or restaurants. You’re well-versed in coffee preparation techniques, from pulling a perfect espresso shot to executing delicate latte art. You understand how to calibrate equipment, dial in grinders, and highlight the nuances of each coffee bean.

Leadership and Teamwork:

You’re a natural leader, someone who inspires confidence and brings positive energy to the team. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and support your teammates to create a seamless guest experience.

Attention to Detail and Precision:

You understand that consistency and precision are non-negotiable. You keep a close eye on inventory, monitor food costs, and ensure that every drink meets the highest standards. Cleanliness, organization, and a sense of pride in your station are second nature to you.

Creativity and Innovation:

You’re not just following a recipe — you’re an artist. You’re excited to collaborate with our culinary team to create seasonal signature drinks that pair beautifully with our dishes.

Mastery of Milk and Foam:

For you, the perfect microfoam is more than a technique — it’s a form of expression. You bring a meticulous approach to steaming and texturing milk, creating silky, velvety foam that elevates each cup to a masterpiece.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a warm and welcoming greeting to all guests, ensuring their questions are answered and requests are met with care and attention.
  • Make sure all sales are accurately recorded and guests receive the correct charges on their checks.
  • Carefully pack items for guests, maintaining the highest standards of presentation and care.
  • Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) guidelines to keep displayed items fresh and appealing, removing anything that’s expired or below standard.
  • Maintain the counter and display area throughout service, ensuring a polished and inviting presentation.
  • Complete all closing duties listed in the checklist before leaving.
  • Reconcile the cash drawer at the end of your shift (management is available to assist if needed).
  • Keep the counter impeccably clean and organized in line with Health Department regulations.
  • Restock the counter as needed throughout the day and at the end of each shift, ensuring full inventory for the next day’s service (including items like cookie tins and olive oil bottles).
  • Prepare all necessary packaging materials for food and retail items.
  • Promptly report any equipment or operational issues (such as lighting or refrigeration) to management.
  • Date and label all food items before ending your shift.
  • Perform ongoing cleaning and light maintenance throughout the shift, ensuring the counter area always looks its best.

Minimal Essential Requirements:

Ability to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues, upholding personal and uniform cleanliness.

Basic skills in food handling, preparation, and cleaning are an asset.

Ability to manage your time effectively and perform well under pressure during busy periods.

Strong English communication skills to follow instructions, maintain safety, and connect with guests and coworkers.

Commitment to active listening, learning, and following established standards.

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs when needed.

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive pay: $17-$19/hour based on experience and skillset
