Job summary

Arsicault Bakery, Inc. in San Francisco is hiring a part-time team member to join our lively bakery. You will greet customers, help with pastry orders, and prepare coffee and sandwiches following health and safety codes.

Maintain clean front-of-house areas, restock supplies, and keep menu knowledge including allergens to answer questions. Must be able to stand for long periods and work weekends/holidays. Experience as a barista or in food service is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous barista or food-service experience preferred.
• Exceptional listening and clear communication.
• Able to multitask and stay organized.
• Comfortable walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
• Food Handler Certification required or within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and cheerfully.
• Fill pastry orders and make coffee and sandwiches following all health and safety codes for proper handling of all food and drink items.
• Restock pastries and other supplies throughout the day such as napkins, pastry bags, boxes, utensils, cream and sugar, cups and dishes, etc.
• Maintain cleanliness in all front of house work areas including pastry counters, coffee and sandwich making stations, indoor and outdoor customer dining areas and restroom.
• Wipe down and sanitize dining tables when customers leave, and refresh sanitizer bins and empty trash cans according to schedule.
• Assist with all cleaning duties as stated on opening, closing and weekly checklists.
• Keep a thorough knowledge of our menu and ingredients including allergens in order to answer customer questions about our products.

We currently operate three locations across San Francisco and continue to grow. Please note that while we have multiple sites, not all may have openings at this time; final placement will be determined based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Previous barista or food‑service experience is preferred; customer service background is also a plus.
• Exceptional listening, clear communication, and a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Able to multitask, stay organized, problem‑solve, and adapt smoothly to changes.
• Comfortable walking, bending, standing, and climbing stairs for the duration of the shift.
• Existing Food Handler Certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices.
