Job summary

Zuma - San Diego is seeking a Barista to craft high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty non-alcoholic beverages in a premium restaurant setting. You will work closely with the service team to ensure timely delivery to guests and maintain a clean, stocked coffee station.

The ideal candidate has experience as a Barista or in a similar luxury restaurant role, is a team player, and demonstrates a passion for guest service. Flexible hours including evenings and weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience as Barista or in a similar luxury restaurant role.
• Strong espresso, milk steaming, and beverage presentation knowledge.
• Passion for Japanese-inspired hospitality and guest service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso-based beverages and other drinks according to Zuma's recipes and standards.
• Deliver beverages and bottled water to service stations for FOH pickup.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines and other beverage equipment safely.
• Maintain station cleanliness and monitor stock levels throughout shift.
• Coordinate with servers and FOH to ensure timely service.

Job description

As a Zuma Barista, you are responsible for preparing high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty non-alcoholic beverages within a premium restaurant environment. This role ensures beverages are prepared consistently and efficiently and coordinates with the service team for timely delivery to guests. The Barista is also responsible for fulfilling bottled water orders and delivering prepared beverages and bottled water to the designated service stations for collection by the service team.

Main Duties

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Prepare espresso-based beverages, coffee, tea, and specialty non-alcoholic beverages according to the Company’s recipes, quality, and presentation standards
• Fulfill coffee, tea, specialty beverage, and bottled water orders promptly and deliver them to the appropriate service station for collection and service by the FOH team
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other beverage equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain consistency in beverage preparation, including proper extraction, milk steaming, temperature, portioning, and presentation
• Coordinate closely with servers, bartenders, and other FOH team members to ensure beverage and bottled water orders are prepared accurately and available for timely service
• Maintain knowledge of coffee, tea, and beverage offerings to assist the service team with product-related questions
• Set up and maintain the coffee and tea station before, during, and after service, ensuring all products and supplies are properly stocked
• Monitor inventory levels of coffee, tea, bottled water, milk, and other supplies and communicate replenishment or ordering needs to management
• Clean and maintain espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and work areas according to established procedures to ensure proper equipment performance and sanitation

• Previous Barista experience in a restaurant, hotel, café, or premium hospitality environment preferred
• Strong knowledge of espresso preparation, coffee, tea, milk steaming, and specialty beverage techniques
• Experience operating and maintaining professional espresso machines and coffee equipment
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
