Job summary

The Mill in Omaha is seeking a friendly barista to share passion for coffee in a fast-paced environment. You will help customers with coffee, tea, beverages, and retail while making them feel appreciated through every interaction.

We value reliability and high-quality service. Shifts can be up to 9 hours, with an average around $17 per hour including tips; benefits include IRA matching up to 3%, store discounts, and free drinks.

Qualifications

• Written, oral, and verbal English proficiency is required.
• Food Handler Permit or Certification may be required by local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Help each customer with coffee, tea, beverages, retail, and make them feel appreciated in interactions.
• Ensure products are handed to customers with high quality and consistent standards.
• Be reliable, show up on time and ready to work.
• Communicate availability needs and follow call-out procedures when needed.
• Stand, walk, or move during shifts, with breaks provided.
• Work at least three shifts per week with consistency.

As a Mill Barista you will

• Helpeachcustomerout with their different needs - coffee, tea, beverages,retailor barand make them feel appreciated in your interactions.


• Love ensuring thatall products are handed to each customer with the highest quality and consistent standards.

• Communicate availability needs and follow proper call-out procedures. Be helpful when things come up. Everyone appreciates it.


• Youwillstand, walk, or be in movement during your working hours, which can be up to9hours in a shift. We giveyoubreaks to recharge!


• You will work at least three shifts each week.Being consistent is the key to excellent work and the customer getting exactly what they are expecting.

• This is a tipped position. Compensation: On average $17.00 per hour. Number includes an average tip of $11.00 per hour.

Actual tips may vary based on a variety of factors including location, position, hours, and quality of service. Average hourly tips are based on current year reporting.


• Typical work hours are between 5am – 11pm, with shifts being 6-9 hours in length.

Other Important info

• It's important that you adhere to all company policies and procedures as laid out in The Mill Employee Handbook.


• Be on time. Ensure you have reliable transportation and can be on time for scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings.


• Food Handler Permit or Certification. As a prerequisite to employment, you'll need to obtain and maintain this as required by local regulations.


• Complete, pass, and maintain trainings. We will set you up for success. Trainings, certifications, and knowledge tests will ensure you can meet The Mill’s standards and policies (and our awesome customer’s expectations). Federal, state, and local regulations will be included.


• Written, oral, and verbal English proficiency is required. Other language fluency is highly valued. Talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas by means of verbal communication happens regularly.


• You will need to view things from near and/or far distances.
