Job summary

The Abbey Resort is seeking a friendly Barista to join our Café Latte team. You will craft beverages, prepare snacks, and take guest orders with a smile, contributing to memorable guest experiences on Lake Geneva.

This role requires weekend and holiday availability, strong English communication, and basic math for money handling. Competitive starting wage of $14 per hour plus tips and a supportive team environment at a world-class resort.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service or retail experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Command of the English language, written and verbal.
• Must have basic math skills for money handling.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
• Must have excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to multi-task under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Greet and serve all guests in a positive and friendly manner.
• Follow predetermined instructions regarding recipes and quantities, following drink specifications exactly.
• Properly use the POS system – i.e. Teres
• Prepare coffee and food orders effectively as they are received.
• Must follow accepted procedures for product handling and storage.
• Responsible for cash handling and bank procedures as outlined by the Accounting Department
• Maintain a neat and organized workstation to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment.
• Communicate with the Manager on duty about any problems or complaints.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with manager, co-workers and other departmental staff.
• Be aware of food and product inventory to ensure adequate par stocks.
• Be familiar with and comply with all security procedures for the outlet.

JOB SUMMARY:

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Barista will be responsible for creating beverages, providing snacks, and taking orders for customers in our Café Latte.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Be familiar with and comply with all security procedures for the outlet.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

• Effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
• Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
• Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours.
• Be alert to the customers’ needs and be familiar with products and ingredients to answer questions

ENVIRONMENT

Indoors, dimly lit, car and climate-controlled environment. Constantly exposed to hot items. Will be standing on cement surfaces with rubber mats.
