Job summary

Zaruma Gold Coffee in New York's DUMBO neighborhood is seeking a passionate Barista to join our team. You will prepare espresso-based drinks, drip coffee, and teas, maintaining brand standards and latte art with support for pastries and display cases.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 1 year barista experience in a specialty coffee shop or fast-paced café setting.
• Availability: Flexible schedule, including weekend shifts, mornings, and holidays as needed.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to multitask under peak morning rush hours, and a positive team attitude.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages, drip coffee, and teas to brand standards.
• Demonstrate proficiency with espresso machinery, dialing in espresso, manual grinding, and micro-foam milk steaming (latte art skills a plus).
• Provide friendly, fast, and welcoming customer service to local regulars, commuters, and visitors.
• Handle cash register operations (POS) accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with pastry handling, and maintaining display cases.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the espresso bar, seating area, and service counter.
• Follow NYC health and safety codes and food handling protocols.
