Job summary

Kingston Resorts in Myrtle Beach is seeking a friendly Barista to join the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort team. You will prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, educate guests on the drink menu, and ensure accurate orders and payments while maintaining a clean coffee bar.

Responsibilities

• Greets, prepares, services, and takes guests' orders for beverages and/or food in a friendly, courteous, professional and timely manner.
• Educate customers on our drink menu, making recommendations based on their preferences.
• Upsells additional items to enhance profitability; enters orders into a computerized system and settles checks.
• Makes drinks using standard ingredients/recipes and controls portions.
• Handles cash, verifies charges, records transactions and balances cash at the end of shift.
• Maintains coffee bar setup, stocks, rotates products, and ensures health and safety standards.
• Responds to guest complaints positively, negotiates a solution, and implements it.
• Locks up and stores beverages, deposits cash, and secures sign-out keys.
• Performs general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.

Job description

The Kingston Resorts is a 145-acre oceanfront resort on the north end of Myrtle Beach. Less than 2 miles from Tanger Outlets and a short 20-minute trip to Broadway at the Beach. This resort is home to the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort, Embassy Suites Myrtle Beach, Kingston Plantation Condos, and Royal Palms. As a Barista, you will prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:Responsibilities

• Greets, prepares, services, and takes guests' orders for beverages and/or food in a friendly, courteous, professional and timely manner to ensure total guest satisfaction.
• Educate customers on our drink menu, making recommendations based on their preferences.
• Upsells additional items to enhance profitability. Enters orders into a computerized system and settles check(s) upon completion of order.
• Makes and/or presents drinks using standard ingredient(s)/recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
• Receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all transactions.
• Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the coffee bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning, stocking and rotating all products needed.
• Respond to guest complains in a positive and tactful manner, negotiate a compromise and implement solution.
• Locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops, secures and balance bank and sign out/in keys.
• Performs general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
