Job summary

Weis Markets is looking for a Barista at our Linganore, MD location to deliver friendly, knowledgeable service and craft high-quality coffee drinks. You will engage customers, keep products fresh and the store clean, and operate the cash register with accuracy.

The role emphasizes teamwork, urgency, and safety, with training provided on PPE and store procedures. Previous barista experience is not required, and the position pays hourly.

Qualifications

Works in assigned positions and uses appropriate routines. Crafts and serves only the highest quality products. Continually hones their craft through learning and practice. Ensures food and merchandise is visually appealing, stocked, and signed appropriately.* Be Dedicated to Each Other: Contributes to the success of the team and supports others to do their best work. Seeks opportunities to recognize, include, appreciate, support, and delight fellow baristas. Follows established policies and guidelines. Communicates important information to the store leader(s) and the team in a timely manner.* May operate and be responsible for cash register operations. Follows policies and procedures to ensure proper money handling to avoid cash overages or shortages.* Responsible for general sanitation in the department. Follows cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements. Disposes of trash properly.* May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties (if properly trained – training provided).* May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through operation of a power jack or hand jack (if properly trained – training provided).* Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE). Including but not limited to cut resistant gloves, safety cutters, company sponsored footwear, etc.* May also be called upon to assist in other departments.**Qualification Requirements**To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without an accommodation. The associate is regularly exposed to indoor conditions with a moderate noise level. The associate is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes (extreme cold and/or extreme hot). **Supervisory Responsibilities** This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. **RATE OF PAY AND BENEFIT**S The hourly pay for this position starts at $16.00 and is up to $24.00.
