Courtyard by Marriott Houston Rice University in Houston, TX, is seeking a Part-Time Barista. The role involves crafting coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, taking orders, handling payments, and maintaining a clean, welcoming station for hotel guests and visitors.

You will operate coffee equipment, assist with inventory, and collaborate with the team to ensure smooth service during conferences and events. Weekend/holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, and other beverages according to recipes and guest preferences.
• Greet guests warmly, take orders accurately, and provide recommendations on menu items.
• Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and point-of-sale (POS) systems efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, including counters, equipment, and seating areas, in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Restock supplies, such as coffee beans, milk, syrups, and pastries, and assist with inventory tracking.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
• Upsell additional items, such as pastries or specialty drinks, to enhance guest experience and meet sales goals.
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests with professionalism and courtesy.
• Adhere to hotel policies, brand standards, and food safety regulations.
