Job summary

Three Pillars Senior Living Communities in Dousman, Wisconsin, is hiring a Barista for a full-time, day-shift position. You will prepare espresso beverages, teas, and other café items, operate coffee equipment, and provide friendly service to residents and guests.

The role emphasizes accuracy in transactions, maintaining a clean workspace, and contributing to a warm, welcoming dining experience within the community.

Qualifications

• Barista or cafe experience preferred.
• ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Cash handling and POS experience preferred.
• Experience operating espresso machines and preparing beverages.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve brewed coffee, espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, and café beverages.
• Operate espresso machines, coffee brewers, grinders, and other café equipment.
• Balance cash drawer and process transactions using the POS system.
• Restock supplies and maintain a clean, sanitary work area.
• Greet guests warmly and answer questions about menu items and allergens.
• Assist with opening and closing café procedures.

Barista Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
• Previous barista, cafe, coffee shop, cashier, or food service experience preferred.
• Experience operating espresso machines and preparing specialty coffee beverages is a plus.
• Cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) experience preferred.

What You'll Do As a Barista

• Prepare and serve brewed coffee, espresso beverages, specialty coffee drinks, teas, smoothies, and other caf? beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, coffee brewers, grinders, blenders, and other caf? equipment.
• Monitor beverage quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Restock coffee beans, syrups, milk, cups, lids, and other beverage supplies throughout the day.
• Assemble and prepare caf? menu items including pastries, breakfast items, sandwiches, wraps, salads, parfaits, and other grab-and-go offerings.
• Package orders for dine-in or carry-out while verifying order accuracy.
• Accurately process cash, credit card, gift card, and resident account transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift and report any discrepancies promptly.
• Greet every guest with professionalism and warmth.
• Answer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, allergens, and daily specials.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
• Build positive relationships with residents, guests, families, and team members.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
• Assist with opening and closing caf? procedures.
