Job summary

Populus at Crescent Hotels & Resorts in Denver seeks a Barista to craft espresso beverages, serve guests, and contribute to a thoughtful café experience. You will maintain quality, follow recipes, and provide friendly, knowledgeable service in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in barista roles and hospitality is preferred. Applicants should be able to stand for extended periods and work collaboratively with hotel teams.

Qualifications

• Previous barista, café, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and other café beverages according to Populus and Little Owl standards.
• Prepare and present food and beverages accurately and with attention to detail.
• Provide warm, genuine, and knowledgeable service to hotel guests and local customers.
• Welcome guests, take orders, process payments, and ensure orders are completed accurately.
• Engage with guests and make thoughtful recommendations based on their preferences.

Your Impact

As a Barista, you will:

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and other café beverages according to Populus and Little Owl standards.
• Prepare and present food and beverage items accurately, efficiently, and with attention to detail.
• Provide warm, genuine, and knowledgeable service to hotel guests and local customers.
• Welcome guests, take orders, process payments, and ensure orders are completed accurately.
• Engage with guests and make thoughtful recommendations based on their preferences.
• Maintain knowledge of coffee, beverage offerings, food items, ingredients, and menu changes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting café and service area throughout the shift.
• Properly operate and care for espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment.
• Follow established recipes, portion standards, preparation procedures, and presentation guidelines.
• Restock coffee, beverages, food items, paper goods, and other supplies as needed.
• Monitor product levels and communicate replenishment needs to leadership.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, cash-handling, and health and safety procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the café, culinary, stewarding, and hotel teams to support smooth daily operations.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning, stocking, cash handling, and equipment shutdown.
• Support special events, hotel programming, and other service needs as assigned.
• Help create a positive and welcoming environment for both guests and fellow associates.
• Pitch in wherever needed to support the success of the team and the overall guest experience.
