Job summary

16 On Center Chicago is seeking a Barista for the Good Ambler cafe to craft coffee and tea beverages and help guests with pastry and café selections. The cafe serves office crowds during weekdays and experiences long lines on weekends.

Ideal candidates know espresso basics, thrive in fast-paced environments, and communicate well with customers. Morning and weekend availability is required, with Illinois Food Handler certification preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of coffee, tea, and espresso beverages.

• Strong multitasking skills and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
• Basic floor service experience, including food running and bussing.

• Effective and proactive communicator with a strong work ethic.
• Morning and weekend availability required.
• Flexible to work opening, mid, and closing shifts as needed.
• Must have or be willing to obtain an Illinois Food Handler’s Certification
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for up to an 8-hour shift.

Position Summary

As a Barista at Good Ambler, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality coffee and tea beverages, assisting customers with pastry and café selections, and ensuring smooth service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Our café serves a steady stream of guests from the adjacent office buildings during the week and experiences long, fast-moving lines on weekends. Success in this role requires a passion for hospitality, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Position Details & Benefits

• Job Type: Part-time, Hourly
• Compensation: $13.50 per hour + Tips
• Paid leave and paid sick leave in accordance with Chicago requirements.
