Job Summary

We are hiring a full‑time Barista to work at 555 31st Street, Downers Grove, IL 60515. The position is Monday through Friday, 6:30 am–2:30 pm, and requires prior barista experience and a food handler certification.

Fixed Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
• Enter orders accurately into POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while keeping the service area clean.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils.
• Ensure proper food preparation using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments.
• Greet customers courteously, interact to ensure satisfaction, and relay concerns to supervisors.
• Serve customers quickly and efficiently, preventing delays in service lines.
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to customers.
• Assist in the buying decision‑making process through good communication and selling techniques.
• Ensure all display foods are merchandised attractively and served neatly and attractively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
