Job summary

Hotel Jerome, Auberge Collection in Aspen, CO seeks a Barista to craft exquisite moments for guests in our hotel outlets. You will greet guests, explain items, input orders into the POS, and prepare beverages with care, while upholding high cleanliness and service standards.

This full-time, year-round role offers $12.50 per hour plus tips. One year of barista experience is preferred; a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience as a barista preferred.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Previous hospitality experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain food handler and alcohol training certifications as applicable.
  • Indoor environment with potential heat/humidity; lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests promptly and explain menu items in detail.
  • Input orders into the POS system and communicate special requests to kitchen/bar.
  • Note dietary restrictions and allergies on tickets.
  • Prepare beverage orders accurately and maintain station cleanliness.
  • Balance cash, process payments, and balance tip slips at shift end.
  • Assist with inventory and restocking as needed.

Job Description

Join us on the journey of crafting exquisite moments as a Barista, where every cup tells a story and each pour is a masterpiece. Where the aroma of freshly brewed inspiration mingles with the joy of creating delightful coffee experiences in our hotel outlets.

  • Greet the guest in a prompt, courteous manner and explain available items in detail.
  • Record the details of the order from the guest, repeating the order back to the guest to check for accuracy.
  • Promptly and accurately input the order into the Point of Sale (POS) system to inform the kitchen/bar on the particulars of the orders being placed.
  • Ensure all dietary restrictions and/or allergies are noted on the ticket and communicated with culinary.
  • Prepares beverage orders to accuracy.
  • Serve each guest using the proper utensils which require manual dexterity of hands and fingers.
  • Assist with collecting and situating food orders from the kitchen.
  • Ensure order forms are filled out daily for next day service and delivered to proper departments.
  • Process cash, credit card, and charge sales for all retail and food and beverage orders.
  • Balance tip slips for each server. Run financial reports, cashier reports, and end of day revenue reports.
  • Prepare the cashier end of shift reports and ensure that your bank is balanced.
  • Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
  • Wipe and sanitize all work surfaces, door knobs, equipment, pens, etc periodically during your shift.
  • Perform side duties such as; restocking condiments, utensils, retail items, beverages, ect.
  • Put away requisition/supplies from the storeroom as required.
  • Assist with monthly inventory of retail items, liquor and beverages.
  • Familiar with hotel layout and hours of operations for each outlet.
  • Perform any cleaning tasks that pertain to the outlet.
Qualifications
  • Any combination of education that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Minimum of one year experience as a barista preferred.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Previous hospitality experience preferred.
  • Superior professional appearance and manner, good character to work in a fast-paced team.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs.
  • Ability to obtain relevant state and local government certifications, such as food handlers certificate or alcohol training certifications, as applicable to the position.
  • Indoor environment, sometimes humid or hot conditions.
  • Ability to lift/carry 30 pounds.
  • Flexible in performance of all duties.
