Job summary

Doctors On Duty is seeking a Bariatric Surgery Coordinator in Salinas, CA. This full-time clerical role provides administrative and patient-coordination support along the bariatric pathway, including follow-up and documentation in the EMR.

You will be the primary contact for patients, monitor progress, coordinate tests and appointments, and escalate issues to the RN or provider to keep patients on track toward surgical readiness.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program or six-month Nurse Aide program.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and multiline phone systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties of a Medical Assistant per job description.
• Act as primary contact for bariatric patients throughout the pathway.
• Track patient progress, coordinate appointments, and ensure pathway completion.
• Document in EMR accurately and timely; request external records as needed.
• Escalate concerns to the RN or provider and maintain patient confidentiality.
