Job summary

Memorial Wellness Center in Springfield, IL, seeks a Bariatric Program Lead - Outpatient RN to coordinate the Bariatric Surgery Program. This in-person role Monday–Friday, with no weekends or on-call requirements, involves educating patients, coordinating multidisciplinary care, and ensuring MBSAQIP-aligned practices across facilities.

The ideal candidate has a nursing degree, IL RN licensure, BLS/CPR, 3+ years of clinical experience, and Bariatric certification within 2 years of hire.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Bariatric Nurse Certification through ASMBS required or obtained within 2 years of hire.
• Three (3) years clinical experience required.
• Data management experience required.
• Experience providing education and presentations for consumers/public.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical aspects of the Bariatric Surgery Program and patient education.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans and liaise with surgeons’ offices and hospital departments.
• Ensure MBSAQIP guidelines are implemented in program design and operations.
• Maintain MBSAQIP accreditation processes and required documentation.
• Lead team communications and education efforts for staff related to bariatric care.
• Participate in ongoing Bariatric Education events for professionals and public.
• Align policies with ASMBS/ACS MBSAQIP guidelines and Memorial Health System standards.
