Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our Bariatric Services team. You’ll provide nutrition counseling, education, and ongoing support to patients pursuing medical weight loss and post-surgical plans.

In this role, you’ll assess adults and adolescents, develop individualized nutrition plans, guide post-operative progression, and collaborate with surgeons and an interdisciplinary team to promote lasting healthy lifestyle changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or related field.
• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Licensed Dietitian in the State of Georgia.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum one year of clinical dietitian experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nutrition assessments and medical nutrition therapy.
• Educate patients and families on pre- and post-bariatric surgery nutrition guidelines.
• Guide patients through post-operative diet progression and lifestyle modifications.
• Recommend vitamin and protein supplementation based on ASMBS guidelines.
• Collaborate with surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Participate in cooking classes, bariatric support groups, community education, and program initiatives.
• Utilize evidence-based practice to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient education records.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or related field
