Job summary

Ingram Marine Group is hiring for a Barge Inspector Trainee in the Houston, TX area. Responsibilities include coordinating repair schedules with customers and facilities, and maintaining cost estimates in the purchasing system.

The role requires basic education with preferred marine repair experience; candidates should be able to work in challenging environments and long hours with safety considerations in mind.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required; 2-year Associate Degree preferred.
• Background in welding and marine repair policies, practices and techniques preferred.
• Six months of marine experience – customer service or maintenance/repair experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling of barge repairs with customer service group and repair facility.
• Initiate and maintain cost estimates within the Ingram P.O. system.
• Expedite repairs in a timely manner while tracking cost.
• Update customer service group on changes in repair completion.
• Fill in for Repair Coordinator as needed.
• Support department with regular and prompt attendance.
