Job summary

PBSGC Marine Group is seeking a Barge Mounted Excavator Operator to operate, repair and maintain heavy equipment in marine environments along Inland waterways. The role includes unloading rock, coordinating with tender and line boat crews, and ensuring safety in dynamic river conditions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of heavy (min. 80,000 lb.) equipment operator experience.
  • Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability and willingness to work 10-12 hours per day.
  • Flexibility to work extended duty or hitch as conditions require.
  • Manual labor including climbing ladders, stairs, bending and stooping.
  • Comfortable working over/adjacent to water and willing to participate in water rescue.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Available for consistent duty.
  • Provide transportation to the job location.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, repair and perform preventive maintenance on barge mounted excavator.
  • Unload and place rock in Inland and Western waterways.
  • Communicate hazards to supervisors and coordinate with tender/line boat crews.
  • Participate in Safety Huddles, Meetings and assist with Job Safety Analysis.
