Job summary

Port Houston is seeking a Terminal Manager to oversee day-to-day vessel, gate, and container yard operations at the Barbours Cut facility. This exempt role reports into the Port's leadership and requires coordinating with ILA locals to maximize safety, production, and efficiency.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Maritime or Business Administration or equivalent, with 5+ years in terminal management or a related field, and demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Administration, Business Administration, or related field; or in lieu of degree, 5+ years of related experience.
• 1+ year of related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ILA Local 1351 & Local 28 is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Supervise ILA Local 1351 and ILA Local 28 staff.
• Oversee 24/7 road and terminal operations.
• Set up Vessel Operations plans and load/discharge pads.
• Direct movement of port equipment and labor.
• Coordinate terminal allocations in Yard Planning Center.
• Perform rail operations duties when designated.
• Maintain relationships with stevedoring and shipping industry.
• Determine labor and equipment orders for shifts.
• Review daily/weekly ILA labor payroll.
• Respond to accidents and investigate causes.
