Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is seeking qualified part-time faculty to teach cosmetology/instructional courses across Wisconsin. Positions are temporary with variable hours each semester and require state licensure as a barber/cosmetology instructor and an associate degree or higher.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction, managing labs, developing curricula, assessing students, advising, and collaborating with industry partners.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in any field or educational equivalency.
• Minimum of 5 years of full-time or equivalent (10,000 hours) experience as a licensed cosmetologist.
• Within last 5 years: at least 3 years related work experience, or teaching barbering/cosmetology at post-secondary level.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver instruction in accordance with curriculum guidelines.
• Manage classroom/laboratory environments for a conducive learning atmosphere.
• Develop, monitor, and revise curriculum for effectiveness and relevance.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Advise students on academic matters and support their educational journey.
• Collaborate with advisory committees, colleagues, and industry partners.
• Attend departmental and institutional meetings and contribute to planning.
• Promote educational programs and participate in recruitment efforts.
• Support student organizations and activities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with business and industry partners.
• Complete program evaluations and engage in professional development.
