Job summary

The Barback position at Pendry Chicago, part of Montage International, supports bartenders and culinary staff in a luxury hotel setting. You’ll help with drinks preparation, stock and maintain bar areas, and contribute to the guest experience with a focus on teamwork and service excellence.

Applicants should be 21+, able to work weekends/holidays, and willing to learn about spirits, wine, beer and food. A comprehensive benefits package and hotel employee perks are provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Prior food and beverage operations experience is a plus.
• You will be at least 21 years of age and comply with state laws for serving alcohol.

Responsibilities

• Consistently follow Food & Beverage sequence of service while maintaining the cleaning of equipment, tools, and supplies, stocking wells, back bars, ice bins and glassware maintenance.
• Primarily assist with bartenders’ needs which may include mixing and serving drinks.
• Work as a team and effectively communicate with management and other staff members.
• Deliver on guests’ expectations and have the desire to create WOW moments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned that may be outside of the normal scope of duties, based on business needs.

• You have basic communication skills

Physical Requirements

• Grasping, holding, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending over
• Ability to stand and exercise mobility for extended periods of time during your scheduled shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and for extended periods during the shift
• Ability to push and pull food serving equipment and carts weighing up to 200 pounds on a semi - regular basis

The pay range for Barback is $18.40 - 18.50 hourly. The pay scale is the base hourly range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the like, that Pendry reasonably expects to pay for the position. We offer an excellent benefits package for this role, which includes: 401[k] retirement plan with company matching, Paid Time Off (Sick Time), free uniform cleaning, free meals during working shifts, and hotel discounts.
