Seaport Entertainment is looking for a Barback to be based in The Seaport . Reporting to the General Manager , t he Barback will provide assistance to the bartenders in ensuring that the bar is properly stocked and prepared for service. This entails a range of duties, including but not limited to restocking supplies, maintaining and cleaning the bar area, and aiding in the preparation of drinks.

What You Will Do

Greets guests, serves water, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages and performs other steps of service as directed by a bartender.

Interacts with the bar guests, fellow employees, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality

Anticipate and accommodate needs of the guests in a timely manner

Responsible for keeping all liquor displays and shelving organized and maintaining par levels

Keeps the bar clean, neat, organized, clear of debris or spills, and ready for service

Ensures adequate stock behind the bar during service and communicates any needs to a bar attendant.

Complies with the Department of Health and company sanitation standards.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

About You

1+ year of experience as a bar attendant, barback or runner.

Energy, enthusiasm, and passion for food and hospitality.

Experience serving both beverages and food.

Must be able to work and remain focused in a fast-paced environment.

Basic knowledge of bar operations is preferred.

Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.

Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10 – 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on a regular (or occasional basis).

Ability to stand for prolong periods of time.

Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.

Climbing steps regularly.

This position is paid a minimum wage and a tip credit is taken when applicable.
