Guy Fieri's Smokehouse Louisville is seeking a Barback to join the team at Fourth Street Live! in Louisville, KY. The role involves supporting bartenders, performing basic prep, restocking, keg changes, and ensuring a clean, organized bar environment. Strong customer service and English proficiency are required.

Candidates should be at least 18 years old with food service knowledge; alcohol permit or health card is a plus. Night/weekend availability may be needed as part of shifts.

Qualifications

• Food service experience required; knowledge of bar/nightclub ops is a plus.
• Fluent English required; other languages a plus.
• Must be at least 18 years old (varies by state) and able to read/write.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and teammates.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or health/food handler card as required.
• Reading and writing abilities are used for taking orders and paperwork.
• Basic math skills are used for orders and transactions.
• May be required to work nights, weekends and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Show energy, friendliness, and professionalism at the bar.
• Perform basic prep: refill ice bins, restock beer/liquor, cut garnishes.
• Change empty kegs and move full kegs from keg room.
• Maintain a clean, tidy bar area and clear spills and trash.
• Organize bar and drinkware; ensure bar is clean during shift.
• Clear and clean bar promptly; multitask across duties.
• Provide polite, professional, and courteous service to guests.
• Communicate clearly with coworkers and guests, in a humorous yet respectful manner.
• Complete all side work as assigned.

Award winning chef, restaurateur, author and TV personality, Guy Fieri, brings his new dining concept, Guy Fieri's Smokehouse, to Fourth Street Live!

Inducted into the American Royal BBQ Hall of Fame in 2012, Guy Fieri's passion for BBQ is heavily influenced in this flagship location. The restaurant features 6,700 square feet of dining space, a 2,200 square foot outdoor patio, a large smoker custom made by Ole Hickory, and bar.

Barback Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Show that you are an energetic, outgoing, fun person while maintaining professionalism.
• Perform basic prep work behind the bar: refilling ice bins, restocking beer/liquor, cutting garnishes.
• Change empty kegs in keg room, including moving full kegs of beer.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and tidy environment by cleaning up spills and emptying trash cans.
• Organizes bar and drink ware.
• Clear and clean bar in a timely manner.
• Perform more than one task at a time.
• Offer polite, professional, and courteous customer service.
• Communicate effectively, clearly, patiently and humorously with co-workers and guests.
• Complete all side work as assigned.

Barback Qualifications

• Food service experience with general knowledge of bar/nightclub operations.
• Must speak fluent English, other languages preferred.
• Must be at least age 18 or older, depending on state regulations.
• Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.
• Mathematical skills, including basic math are used frequently.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

The Barback position requires the ability to perform the following:

• Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 200 pounds (kegs, ice, glasses, trays, etc.)
• Move about the facility efficiently and safely.
• Handling food, objects, products and utensils effectively and safely.
• Withstand potential climate temperature changes in assigned work area.
