Mayahuel in Houston is hiring a Barback to support bartenders and keep the bar clean, stocked, and ready for fast, high-volume service, ensuring smooth shifts. The ideal candidate is energetic, reliable, team-oriented, and able to work evenings and weekends in a lively hospitality environment, with opportunities for growth.

You will handle glassware, restock supplies, assist during peak times, and help maintain a safe, sanitary work area.

Qualifications

• Experience in restaurant, bar, or high-volume service preferred.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to anticipate needs and multitask.
• Must meet state/local age requirements.
• Food handler and/or alcohol-service certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Stock and replenish liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and garnishes.
• Assist bartenders with keeping the bar organized and stocked.
• Refill ice bins, coolers, and service stations.
• Collect, wash, polish, and store glassware and bar equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of bar tops and storage areas.
• Prepare garnishes and basic bar supplies.
• Assist with opening/closing duties, stocking and cleaning.
• Monitor inventory and communicate restocking needs.
