Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated is hiring a Barback to deliver exceptional guest service and keep the bar running smoothly. You will assist with equipment, setup, stock rotation, and ensure cleanliness in a fast-paced environment at Derby City Gaming Downtown.

You will work with the bar team, handle inventory controls, and help maintain a welcoming atmosphere for guests while adhering to health and safety standards. Prior bar back experience is preferred and a Racing License may be required.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Some prior bar back experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain a valid Racing License.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance of all bar equipment.
• Set up and breakdown of bar side work and related projects.
• Perform under stressful situations in small quarters with team members and guests.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the bar and storage areas.
• Use communication devices such as telephones and two-way radios.
• Interact with guests to foster great guest relations and loyalty opportunities.
• Support inventory controls, stocking, product rotation, and date labeling.
