Job summary

Local Edition, beneath Market St. in the Hearst Building, is seeking a Barback to support bartenders and keep the bar stocked and clean. You will assist with beverage prep, glassware, and stock management while delivering attentive guest service in a historic SF venue.

Typical hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays, 3:30 pm–3:30 am. Applicants should have restaurant/bar/hotel experience or willingness to learn, be 21+, and obtain a CA Food Handler’s Cert and RBS training as required.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail is essential for accurate bar stock and drink prep.

• Basic math and proportion understanding for batches and measurements.
• Strong interpersonal skills for guest interaction and teamwork.
• CA Food Handler’s Certification and RBS training required or able to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist bartenders with daily service and customer needs.
• Maintain overall bar cleanliness and organization.
• Prepare batches and cocktail ingredients.
• Wash and organize glassware.
• Retrieve and maintain bar stock levels.
• Assist with opening and closing duties.
