Job summary

aliveOne Chicago is hiring a Barback to support a high-energy, high-volume bar and restaurant. You will help prep the bar, stock, and maintain cleanliness while delivering friendly service.

This role offers part-time and full-time options with a lively team, competitive hourly pay plus tips, and employee discounts. Night and weekend shifts are common, with opportunities to grow in a music-forward venue.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant.
• Strong communicator with friendly demeanor.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Maintain alcohol knowledge and safety certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the bar for service.
• Keep constant awareness of the bar's needs.
• Change blown kegs.
• Keep the bar and glassware clean.
• Replenish ice, beverages, and supplies.
• Bus tables during shifts.
• Be a good teammate and reliable.
• Work varied hours as business dictates.

aliveOne is our flagship location paying homage to live music, past and present. Serving up the best in music and spirits, any night of the week you can enjoy half-price happy hour, live concert DVDs playing on the TVs and Chicago's only all-live music jukebox playing in the front room. Our weekly events include a new live band in the back room every Wednesday, our Thursday resident band, DJ dance parties on Friday and Saturday, and many others.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

• Ensure that the bar is prepared and set up for success
• Keep constant awareness of the bar's needs
• Change blown kegs
• Keep the bar clean, including all workspaces and glassware
• Replenish and stock ice, alcohol, juices, glassware, etc.
• Bus tables throughout shift
• Be a good teammate
• Be responsible, show personal accountability, and be reliable
• High-volume barback experience preferred
• Must maintain alcohol knowledge and safety certifications as required by company and city/state
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and certain holidays
