Job summary

The Mint Gaming Hall in Williamsburg, KY is looking for a bar team member who can maintain a clean, well-organized bar and support bartenders throughout shifts. You will stock supplies, label and store prepped items, and assist with opening/closing duties while ensuring guest satisfaction and safety.

Ideal candidates will be 21+ with a high school diploma or GED and have or be able to obtain required work and alcohol awareness cards, STAR certification, and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Able to work day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• Must obtain work cards and alcohol awareness cards.
• Must be 21+ years old.
• STAR Certification prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and well-organized bar.
• Stock liquor, beer, ice, wine, and glassware throughout the shift.
• Label, date, cover, and refrigerate prepped items in the bar.
• Open/close and side duties, set up/break down bar, clean glass/counters and floor.
• Rotate product to maintain freshness.
• Put away liquor/beer orders as necessary.
• Prepare fruit and garnish and make scratch recipes where applicable.
• Assist bartender in greeting guests and welcoming them to the bar.
• Assist with food delivery and pre-bussing as needed by shift assignment.
• Attend scheduled shifts and staff meetings regularly.
• Use all bar equipment, cleaning, and sanitizing products per MSDS and standards.
• Provide BIG Service to guests, building professional relationships with staff and guests.
• Work safely and follow safety policies, reporting unsafe conditions.
• Maintain appearance standards and assist with training new team members.
• Maintain all appearance standards per uniform guidelines.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a clean and well-organized bar.
• Stock liquor, beer, ice, wine, and glassware throughout the shift.
• Properly labeling, dating, covering, and refrigerating prepped items in the bar.
• Performs opening, closing and side duties, setting up/breaking down the bar, cleaning glass/countertops, sweeping the floor, etc.
• Rotates product to maintain freshness.
• Put away liquor/beer orders, as necessary.
• Preparing fruit and other garnish and making scratch recipes if applicable.
• Assists the bartender in greeting guests and welcomes them upon arrival to the bar.
• Assists with food delivery, and pre-bussing as necessary based on shift assignment.
• Maintain regular attendance at scheduled shift and staff meetings.
• Consistently uses all bar equipment, cleaning, and sanitizing products in accordance with all MSDS sheets and departmental standards.
• To provide BIG Service to internal and external guests and ensure their complete satisfaction, inclusive of greeting and interacting with guests in a friendly and enthusiastic manner, anticipating and meeting guest needs and preferences, remaining calm and professional when dealing with guests that are difficult or upset.
• The ability to develop and maintain professional, trusting, and positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, staff, coworkers, guests, and vendors.
• The ability and willingness to ensure that work activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
• The ability to work safely. This includes clearly understanding and following company safety policies and procedures, completing work in a safe manner, caring about safety of self and others, responding appropriately in an emergency, and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Maintain regular attendance at scheduled shift and staff meetings.
• Maintain professionalism and a friendly and approachable demeanor throughout the workday.
• Assist with training/mentoring of new team members as requested.
• Maintain all appearance standards in accordance with established uniform and appearance guidelines.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
• Internal candidates must meet the eligibility requirements as provided in the Transfer and Promotion policy.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, this includes day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
• Must be able to obtain required work cards, alcohol awareness cards and non-gaming registration as required by the local jurisdiction.
• Must be 20 + 1 Day years of age or older.
• Must pass all required background checks.
• Must be able to obtain and provide STAR Certification prior to start date.
