Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels Corporation is seeking a Bar Back to support bartenders and the Food & Beverage team in our New Orleans locations. You’ll help restock and organize bar supplies, maintain cleanliness, and assist with opening/closing duties to ensure seamless guest service in a lively setting.

The ideal candidate is energetic, dependable, and enjoys teamwork in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, bar, hospitality, food runner, bar back, or Food & Beverage experience preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-energy hospitality environment.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support bartenders and bar operations by restocking liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and bar supplies throughout shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization across bar areas, service stations, storage rooms, and guest-facing spaces.
• Assist with bar setup, breakdown, opening duties, and closing side work.
• Wash and polish glassware, restock inventory, and help maintain smooth beverage service during high-volume periods.
• Remove empty bottles, trash, and used glassware while keeping work areas clean and safe.
• Support restaurant, lounge, banquet, and event operations as needed.
• Follow food safety procedures, sanitation standards, and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
• Partner with Bartenders, Servers, Culinary teams, and Food & Beverage leadership to support guest experiences.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to leadership proactively.
• Help create a positive, energetic, and team-oriented atmosphere aligned with Sonesta’s People People culture.
• Any other duties as assigned.
