Job summary

Casa de Montecristo in Nashville is seeking a Barback to support bartenders and ensure smooth daily operations in a busy lounge environment.

You will stock liquor, beer and wine, maintain bar cleanliness, and assist with opening/closing side-work. Strong communication, friendly service and a neat appearance are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.

• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
• Replenish all liquor, beer and wine as needed in the bar during the shift.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the bar, refrigerators, and service areas of the bar in an organized manner.
• Assist in opening and closing side-work as assigned.
• Be responsible for receiving all liquor, beer and wine from storeroom in a daily basis.
• Assist in ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the bar or lounge areas
• Perform other duties as requested by management
• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of progressive experience in the bar industry or a related field required.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain bar stock including liquor, beer and wine replenishment.
• Keep bar and lounge areas clean and organized.
• Attend to guests and staff in a friendly, professional manner.
• Assist bartenders and other staff as needed.
• Assist in opening and closing side-work and daily routines.
• Receive deliveries from storeroom and check quantities.
• Ensure personal appearance and grooming standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to smoke or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/ or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
