Job summary

The Morris Proper, a full-service restaurant and bar in Morristown, NJ from Chelsea Hospitality Group, invites you to join our team as a bartender. You’ll help stock, prepare, and serve drinks while delivering warm, guest-centered service in a lively setting.

Ideal candidates will have restaurant experience, be 18+, and be available nights and weekends. TIPS or ServSafe is preferred, and a strong work ethic with teamwork will help you thrive in our fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old to work behind the bar.
• TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol certification preferred.
• Prior restaurant experience is required.
• Willingness to learn and attention to cleanliness.
• Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Warm, guest-oriented attitude and a team-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Stock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice, and glassware before and during service.
• Support bartenders by running products and keeping wells ready during peak volume.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar, back bar, and storage areas.
• Wash, polish, and restock glassware during service.
• Prepare juices, syrups, and garnishes to specification.
• Change kegs, receive deliveries, and rotate products properly.
• Complete bar opening, closing, and side work checklists.
• Assist guests and communicate with the FOH team for seamless service.

What You’ll Do:

• Stock & Setup: Stock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice, and glassware before and during service.
• Support Bartenders: Anticipate needs, run product, and keep wells ready during peak volume.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the bar, back bar, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitized.
• Glassware: Wash, polish, and restock glassware throughout service.
• Garnish & Prep: Prepare juices, syrups, and garnishes to spec.
• Kegs & Deliveries: Change kegs, receive deliveries, and rotate product properly.
• Opening & Closing: Complete bar opening, closing, and side work checklists.
• Guest Focused: Assist guests when needed and communicate with the FOH team to deliver seamless service.
