JOB DESCRIPTION BARBACK - Cindy's P/T

The barback position is an essential support role that ensures the bar operates smoothly and efficiently. The barback works closely with bartenders to maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar, allowing bartenders to focus on service and guest experience. This position requires attention to detail, speed, and teamwork.

  • PRIORITY #1: SUPPORTING THE BAR TEAM & MAINTAINING A SEAMLESS OPERATION.
  • PRIORITY #2: Ensuring all bar areas are clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times.
  • Exhibits Cindy’s and Boka service standard on a consistent basis.
  • Washes, polishes, and restocks glassware quickly and efficiently to maintain a steady supply.
  • Prepares garnishes as needed and ensures they are fresh and well-stocked throughout the shift.
  • Restocks all bar supplies, including liquor, beer, wine, mixers, napkins, straws, and utensils, ensuring everything is in its proper place.
  • Taps kegs and ensures proper storage and rotation of draft beer to maintain quality and minimize waste.
  • Keeps ice bins full at all times and properly handles ice to maintain sanitation standards.
  • Wipes down bar counters, back bar shelves, and all bar equipment consistently to maintain a clean and professional environment.
  • Removes trash, broken glass, and recyclables from the bar area to designated bins, keeping workspaces clear and organized.
  • Monitors and refills juices, syrups, and other bar ingredients as needed.
  • Cleans and maintains bar tools, including shakers, strainers, jiggers, and cutting boards, ensuring they are sanitized and ready for use.
  • Works as a team player, assisting bartenders and fellow staff whenever needed.
  • Adheres to all health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling, sanitation, and workplace cleanliness. Ensures all food, beverages, garnish are labeled and dated.
  • Responds to bartender requests promptly and efficiently to ensure smooth service.

Barback Daily Checklist

Report for work at your scheduled time. Clock in on designated time clock.

You are responsible for the neatness, cleanliness and appearance of your uniform. You are an important part of the image.

Hair, make-up, and personal hygiene preparations should be complete before punching in and commencing work. Arrive at an appropriate time so that these preparations are completed before the start of your shift.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment
  • Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven and slick surfaces
