Job summary

Virgin Hotels New Orleans is seeking an aspiring bartender to support the beverage operation in a lively, high-volume setting. This role focuses on timely bussing, resetting the bar, running food and beverage items, and providing friendly, prompt service to guests and teammates.

You will collaborate with colleagues to deliver memorable guest experiences, learn mixology basics, and maintain a neat, clean bar area while adhering to safety and health standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a full-service restaurant or lounge preferred.
• Able to stand for 8–10 hours and lift/carry 50 lbs.
• Experience in a high-volume craft cocktail bar is a plus.
• Must communicate clearly in English (verbal and written).
• Must be able to work well with teammates and guests.

Responsibilities

• Support bartenders with pre-shift prep and post-shift close.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic and organized bar area.
• Stock bar supplies and assist with liquor requisition.
• Explain basic details of menu items to guests upon delivery.
• Prepare basic non-alcoholic beverages (water, coffee, tea).
• Be organized and familiar with bar layout and operations.
