Job summary

Luminary Hotel, operated by Mainsail Lodging & Development, is seeking a Bar Back to support bartenders and ensure exceptional service. The role focuses on assisting with beverage prep, stocking, and maintaining a clean, well-organized bar area.

Candidates should have hospitality experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced restaurant/bar environment. This on-site position requires reliable, independent work and a proactive attitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
• Experience in hospitality and customer service is required.
• Minimum 1 year in a restaurant or bar setting.
• Knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Teamwork in a hospitality environment.
• Comfort using technology (computers, tablets, POS).
• Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
• A sense of ownership in responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide service to bartenders in a timely manner.
• Prepare beverage garnishes and mixes.
• Ensure proper stocking and rotation of beer, liquor, wine, and consumables.
• Clean glasses, utensils, tools, and other bar equipment.
• Run food from kitchen to bar area to ensure timely delivery.
• Provide guests with menu knowledge, including ingredients and prices.
• Maintain opening and closing par levels for beer, wine, liquor, and consumables.
• Assist in receiving and unloading bar items and stocking.
• Maintain a clean and organized bar, cooler, and storage area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
